Lewis Jewel presented to father and son. |
At the November meeting of Milton Lodge, Rt. Wor. Ken Lodge presented the Lewis Jewel to our Treasurer, Bro. Al Fyfe, Jr. in memory of his late father, Bro. Frederick Allen Fyfe, Sr. Bro Al Fyfe had requested that Rt. Wor. Ken present him the jewel because he was a close friend of his father. Bro Al then had the honor or presenting a Lewis Jewel to his son, Wor. Ian Fyfe. The son of a Freemason is called a “Lewis” after the tool used by operative masons to lift and move heavy stones. The name has been applied to sons of Masons because they provide strength and support for their fathers. Wor, Paul Ricciardi holds an actual lewis and, following the presentation of the Lewis jewels, he explained how the tool was used. The photo includes (l to r) Wor. Lance P. Powers, Master of Milton Lodge; Wor. Paul F. Ricciardi; Wor. Ian Fyfe; Rt. Wor. Lawrence E. Piper, Jr., District Deputy Grand Master for the 8th Masonic District, Bro. F. Allen Fyfe, jr.; and, Rt. Wor. Kenneth P. Lodge, PDDGM.
